Ardent
3D Action Adventure
Created in April, 2019
Team Size: 4
Personal Development Hours: 80
My Key Additions: Level design, testing

I got to work on Ardent for my Game Design II course. Since we were allowed an entire semester to work on one project, we decided to make a game that would work with larger themes like losing all emotion in life, rendering someone powerless.

What I learned making Ardent:
-
Learned to work with Unreal Engine's blueprint system.
-
Learned more about designing levels to match a theme, such as an arena for our Anger level.
-
Black box testing other team member's functionality was a good way to verify if their content was working.
Abstract:
The player works to regain their powers represented by emotions in a void world controlled by a being known as the Desohedron. Each emotion gives the player a new ability such as a sword represented by anger. Once the player regains all of their emotions, they will have the strength to escape the void.
