Decrypt

2D Puzzle Solver

My Key Additions: enemy AI, animations, level design.

Decrypt was made in my first semester of Game Design using Unity. I wanted to make a game that would stand out among my other classmates, so I chose to create a puzzle game.

​

The three things I wanted from Decrypt:

  1. I wanted puzzles that felt unique, like our decryption puzzle.

  2. I wanted a retro theme that would feel nostalgic, so we used a monochromatic pixel art sprite pack and created a bit-crushed soundtrack.

  3. I wanted the player to be encouraged to collect everything in the game. We included five different ending screens based on how much gold was earned and we included four optional keys that allow the player to enter the final treasure room.

Abstract:

Play as Caesar as you trek through the crypt. You'll find the treasure you seek along your journey, but danger awaits you. If you can solve the variety of puzzles and survive the traps and creatures, then you just might make it out of this adventure wealthy and alive.

Decrypt is still being developed today through the same team of two as a passion project in hopes of one day hitting the market.
